If I had a dollar for every time someone told me this, I would be able to pay someone to blog for me. I don't view it as a client's fault, they were probably told by a web developer that all they needed was a ?flashy? website with some coupons, and they would be good to go. Should I Use QR Codes For Marketing My Business?

Just yesterday I got a magazine in the mail called 100% you™ (summer 2010) from T-Mobile.  The magazine was sent out to all their customers and it mainly focused on the MyTouch 3G Smart Phone in this edition.  The articles were excellent and had a lot of great information.  What was really interesting was as I read through articles I started seeing more and more QR Codes (they call theirs SPARQCode) .   The magazine had 43 pages and in it was over 65 QR Codes you could scan.  These codes automatically linked to everything from free Smart Phone applications you could download, videos, links to mobile sites with more information on certain subjects and so much more.

According to the online research I did T-Mobile has about 26 million customers and according to the NPD Group; a market research firm "27% of all new mobile phones purchased during 2d qtr 2009 were smart phones".  The head of Android Development stated that 60,000 to 75,000 hand held units are activated each day.

So what does this mean?  The technology to scan QR Code and take that user to your advertising is being put into the hands of more consumers and a businesses are adding it to their marketing effectively.   At least one cellphone company is starting to push the technology to their 26 million customers which means more potential customers for you.
